Get ready for August!
Let's kick off August with an announcement on some cool new events we have happening! First up we have the return of our D&D - Beginner's Campaign! One August 6th @2pm, we will be hosting another campaign to introduce new players to the fun of Dungeons & Dragons.This event is tailored to inspire young creative minds, all ages are welcome! Each new player will be welcomed with a set of free dice! Next we have an Intro to Magic event on August 14th @2pm. If you or a friend are interested in learning how to play Magic the Gathering, this event is for you! With an entry of fee of $10, you receive 2 packs of Jumpstart that will be used to teach you the game. This is only for new players. Promos will be handed out to new players, and experienced players who bring a friend interested in learning. We will also be hosting our first ever Ladies Magic Lounge on August 17th @7pm. This will be the first of a monthly ladies night! From 7pm to 10pm, you can enjoy a night of fun and make new friends! Be sure to bring your magic decks. If you don't have one, we'll have a few available to borrow. This event will be run by our Assistant Manager, Sham! We'll be using the private room in the back so we have a limit of 7 people. Please call ahead to reserve a spot. On August 21st @Noon, we have a case tournament for Pokémon Astral Radiance! We’ll be using a whole case of Astral Radiance as prize Support. Entry is $25. Deck lists will be required so registration begins at 11am. Please show up early with enough time to fill one out or bring your own. Tickets are available for preorder here. Be sure to get your preorders in for the next Pokémon and Magic the Gather sets! We will be hosting prerelease events for Pokémon Lost Origin on August 28th @Noon, August 30th @7pm, and September 4th @Noon. Tickets are available for preorder here. Other sealed product can be preordered over the phone, email, or in person. Dominaria Untied will be released on September 9th but you can still preregister for Prerelease! Dominaria United Prereleases will be held on September 2nd @7pm, September 3rd @Noon & 5pm, and September 4th with 2HG @Noon and a regular prerelease @5pm. We’ll have special promos to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of Magic the Gathering for those that preregister. Tickets are available for preorder here. We've got some big tournaments coming up so here's a little refresher so you all can be prepared! We'll also be dropping some special information on promotions. Starting July 2nd, we'll be having a sale on a variety of sealed Pokémon products! We have more than just these in stock so make sure you stop by to see what we have. July 6th @7pm , we'll be shaking up Weekly Wednesday Draft. We'd like to introduce the Mishke AI Generated Cube! Each card in this cube is generated by an Artificial Intelligence coded by Mischke brothers! That means, art, name, mana cost, and every other detail, has been generated by the AI. Check out a few of them. Though you can't take these cards home, you will be leaving with standard booster packs as prize support! Entry fee is $7 with regular prize support. 3-0 gets 5 draft packs, 2-1 gets 3, and everyone else gets 1! July 8th is the official release of Double Masters 2022! We'll be celebrating launch with a Draft @7pm! Entry is $50. If you've preordered any booster boxes, they'll be available for pick up. July 10th @ Noon is our Summer Store Championship! Be sure to bring you Pioneer decks as that's the format for this tournament! The first 80 entrants will receive a Flame Slash promo, top 8 will get a copy of Archmage's Charm and 1st place will get a Dark Confidant! Additional prizes in the form of boosters packs will be based on attendance! Tickets can be found here. And Finally we have our Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQ)! Since we are a WPN Premium Store, we're privileged to host two (2) RCQs! The first one is Streets of New Capenna Sealed and will be held on July 17th @ Noon. The second one is Pioneer and will be held on July 31st @ Noon. The first 32 entrants will receive a Lava Spike promo, top 8 will get a copy of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and 1st place will get FOIL Nykthos and a DreamHack badge! Additional prizes in the form of boosters packs will be based on attendance, and there will be 2 door prizes so keep your fingers crossed! Tickets for Sealed on July 17th are here. July Lineup
July is fast approaching and that means so are some cool events we have planned! First, we'd like to announce the Love Your Local Game Store Promotion is returning! Starting July 1, we'll be handing out foil retro-frame Sol Ring for purchases of Sealed Magic product over $50! This promotion is only available while supplies last. We're kicking off the new month with a premium event, reserved for WPN Premium stores like us. We'll be hosting a Preview Draft for Double Masters 2022! Similar to a prerelease, this allows you to experience the set early before the release date. We'll be hosting Preview Drafts on July 1st @ 7pm, July 2nd @ Noon and July 3rd @ Noon. All weekend we'll be handing out promos, limited one (1) per person. Tickets for the event will be $50 and are available here. The Launch Day for Double Masters 2022 is July 8th so be sure to stop by to draft the set @ 7pm if you missed the preview! If you're looking to preorder any Double Masters 2022 product, just give us a call or stop in store! Next up is our Summer Store Championship on July 10th @ Noon! The format for this event will be Pioneer with a cut to TOP 8. Entrants will receive one (1) promo Flame Slash, the top 8 players will receive a foil Archmage's Charm, and the first place winner will take home a foil Dark Confidant! Be sure to sign up soon! These are competitive events so decklists will be required. We'll be handing out a plenty of promos! Coalesce Apparel + Design has donated $25 gift cards to their website that we will be giving away as door prizes to some lucky participants. We'll be handing out one at each event so keep your fingers crossed! The first 32 participants a non-foil Lava Spike, Top 8 get a non-foil Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, the winner will receive a foil Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx along with a DreamHack badge! We only have a few spots left so so please sign up in advance by giving us a call. And let's not forget our regularly scheduled events! Sundays we have two (2) events scheduled. We have Pokémon Club @ Noon. Players can show up to meet other members of the community, play games and trade cards. We also have Open Play which is an all day event. Have a bit of spare time? Stop on by to play a few games! On Sundays you can find a variety of games to join! From board games to card games like Pokémon or Magic the Gathering! On Mondays there are two (2) events scheduled. We have cEDH @ 7pm. If you're more of a competitive Commander player, this is the night for you! Entry is $6 for 3 rounds of cEDH, each round 70 minutes. We allow 5 playtest cards up for cards $500+, you get a pack for participating and a pack per win! We also have Monday Night Modern @ 7pm. Entry is $6, 3 rounds that are 50 minutes each! We'll hand out occasional promos packs! Tuesdays @7pm we have Pokémon Standard. Entry is $6 for 3 rounds of Pokémon. If there are enough players, we will break it up into age divisions. Based on record, 3-0 gets 5 booster packs, 2-1 gets 3 booster packs, and everyone else gets 1! Wednesdays @ 7pm we have Draft! Check out our Calendar on the main page or give us a call to find out what set is scheduled! Thursdays @ 7pm we have a crowd favorite, Commander League! Entry fee is $6. We have a point sheet that changes each month so make sure you check out the calendar to see what points you should strive to meet! After each night, you will receive one booster pack and at the end of each month, we award an amount of store credit as prize based on how you rank against other players! For Friday Night Magic we have two events scheduled! We have Draft @ 7pm. Check out our Calendar on the main page or give us a call to find out what set is scheduled! We also have Pioneer @ 7pm. Entry is $6 for 3 rounds, each 50 minutes. Be sure to stop by so you can test out your decks so you can be ready for our Store Championship and our RCQ! Finally we have Standard on Saturdays @ Noon. Entry is $6 for 3 rounds, each 50 minutes long. 3-0 gets 5 booster packs, 2-1 gets 3 booster packs, and everyone else gets 1! June Event Lineup
With June right around the corner, we'd like to let you know what events we have planned! We are staring the month off with a CHAOS Draft using standard sets! Players can choose draft packs from any standard set to use. Entry is $15 with standard draft booster packs as prize support. Get ready for the Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate Prerelease! We have one on Friday June 3rd at 7pm, two on Saturday June 4th and Sunday June 5th at Noon and 5pm. Entry fee is $25. Tickets are available here. Release day is June 10th. We will be having a draft at 7pm, entry free is $25. We also have the return of Precon Battles! On June 12, Join us for the Battle For Baldur's Gate Commander Launch. Each participant must purchase a preconstructed Baldur's Gate commander deck. Compete against other players with unaltered decks. Each win gains you one promo pack. You also get a free promo pack just for showing up! Let's not for get out regularly scheduled events. On Mondays we have Modern and cEDH at 7pm. Modern entry is $6 with standard booster packs as prize support. cEDH entry is $6. Players will be in pods of 4 (may vary based on attendance). 3 rounds, each is 70 minutes. This is NOT a sanctioned event as play test cards are allowed. We allow up to 5 playtest for cards $500+. Participants get one standard draft pack for participating, and an additional pack per win! On Tuesdays we have Pokemon Standard tournaments! This event is currently unsanctioned as Pokémon has not continued Organized Play. Entry fee is $6 and prize support will be standard pokemon packs. Next we have Weekly Wednesday Draft. Entry fee varies depending on what set is being drafted so check out the calendar or give us a call to see what set is scheduled. Let's not forget a crowd favorite, Commander League! Stay tuned for the new point sheets and an announcement of our Council's Judgement Winner! By popular demand, we are changing the day for our Pioneer tournaments. Pioneer will no longer be held on Wednesday. Instead, we are moving it to Friday at 7pm and are replacing FNM: Modern with FFNM: Pioneer. Entry is $6 and prize support is the usual 3-0 gets 5 draft booster packs, 2-1 gets 3, and everyone else gets 1!We will be hosting Pro Tour Qualifier events in store. Those will be scheduled for July so check out our calendar for dates. Tickets will be available On Fridays we also have FNM: Draft. Check our calendars or give us a call to see what set is scheduled. Lastly, we have Standard Saturday at Noon. Entry fee is $6 with standard draft packs as prize support. Check back each month for updates! We aim for blog posts at least twice a month to help keep you all informed.
Upcoming Event Highlights
Hey folks, just a quick update for you all. We have a lot of events coming up in the next few weeks. First we have the Store Championship coming up on Sunday the 15th for Magic The Gathering! It is of New Capenna Sealed with a cut to Top 8 New Capenna Draft after the swiss rounds. First 40 people through the door get a promo Power Word Kill! We became a WPN Premium after our promos were received so unfortunately they do not have our store name on them, but they still look amazing! We have plenty of space but if you'd like, you can reserve a spot here. Next up we have a prerelease for the new Pokémon set, Astral Radiance! We have dates set for the 15th and the 22nd. Each player may register for one event only so others get the chance to join in on the fun. Players will be placed in age appropriate divisions (Juniors, Seniors, & Masters) when possible. Tickets for this event can be purchased in advance here. After that we have the long awaited return of Commander Legends. We will be hosting a Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate prerelease! Unlike other prerelease events, this set will be drafted. Players will draft 2 cards per pack and build a 60 card commander deck to play against opponents. All other Commander rules apply with one exception: the Singleton rule does not apply. You may play as many copies of a card as you draft of it. You can preorder tickets here. And finally, with the return of the MTG Pro Tour, we'd like to announce weekly pioneer on Wednesday! You can test out decks in this weekly tournament to prepare for the Pro Tour Qualifiers. Entry is $6 and prize support is the usual 3-0 gets 5 draft booster packs, 2-1 gets 3, and everyone else gets 1!We will be hosting Pro Tour Qualifier events in store and are currently working on getting everything set up.
